Congrats to all the Piney Hills Half finishers! Everyone of them braved the wind and rain to conquer the Piney Hills on the morning of Sunday, February 10, 2013. The runners were also treated to great jambalaya and bread pudding from Ponchatoula's as well as the music of the Monty Russell Band. I had a great time standing out in the storms, as a volunteer, with the officers for the run yesterday!!! I heard no negative comments whatsoever from officers or participants!! It was very well organized and I am hoping next year, the route won't be so hilly...as I plan to train and run in it!! Great job you guys...it was an awesome event!!! I am so proud of Doug and Will for showing the guts, courage, and wallet to bring a half to Ruston. We were all so fortunate to participate in this LOCAL event. A half marathon for the people of North Louisiana that doesn't demand a 4 hour drive is really special.
